The Consultation

Tailor made - everyone is bio-chemically different.  There is no “one size fits all” approach and although dietary advice is given with foods to include or avoid/reduce and recipes ideas are suggested if required, there are no rigid, prescriptive diet sheets to adhere to.

A week's diet diary filled in beforehand to spot any patterns that could be changed, any excesses or deficiencies within diet.  Possible adjustments are made gradually, realistically over a period of time.

Initial consultation is detailed study of past medical history, presenting symptoms, chief concerns, family history, medication past and current, plus discussion of each body system possible symptoms to gain a picture of those systems that may need support.

Duration is approx an hour and a half. One hour for the initial consultation and half an hour the following week to provide the full nutritional plan.  Subsequent follow up 45 min sessions can be at 4 weekly to 6 weekly intervals depending on the individual.

Nutritional plan will be approached through diet and food where possible but there may be a necessity to use supplements also where there are deficiencies within the diet and obvious bodily signs of deficiencies.  In this instance practicality and budget is taken into account.

Lifestyle adjustments may also be suggested to support the nutritional plan  ie relaxation techniques or exercise.

Tests - sometimes it is necessary to have tests administered to gain a clearer picture.  These can be in the form of urine, hair, saliva or blood. It may be suggested that you approach your GP for a test.  Please bring results of any previous tests to your consultation.

TV nutritionists often come across as quite forceful, bossy and a little “holier than though”  so you may be feeling a little apprehensive about the thought of going through this process and possibly being told to give up all the things you love! 

The nutritional plan will be highly personalised and realistic taking into account your  tastes and giving you insight into how you can best manage and incorporate a varied, wholesome and appetising diet into your day.  However, it is important to emphasise that the process does require some flexibility effort and commitment from you to achieve your health goals.  - not a short term diet but a way of eating that will support your body systems for the rest of your life.
